Wasps team up with cahro to plan for the future
2007 Heineken Cup Winners, London Wasps have teamed up with cahro limited in order to support their continued success both on and off the pitch.
cahro are a Gold Standard training provider, whose assessors are currently working with Chris Lloyd, Manager of London Wasps Apprenticeship Scheme (AASE) on a one-to-one basis to develop innovative and valid assessment methods for the NVQ element of the AASE.
Wasps currently have 15 apprentices on their books, with that number set to rise next season. As well as receiving top class rugby coaching and conditioning, apprentices also pursue a course of Further Education in the form of the nationally recognised Advanced Apprenticeship in Sporting Excellence (AASE) as well following Sixth Form courses at Twyford CE School, which neighbours Wasps training ground in Acton.
Apprenticeship Manager Lloyd is working with cahro to secure his Assessor Awards with the awarding body EdExcel. This on-site training is a very valuable qualification and will ensure that the London Wasps apprentices receive the best education and learning environment.
Assessment methods can include MP3 recorded professional discussions with the apprentices, video analysis and first hand observations of the apprentices developing their skills. This provides a specific and clear pathway to success for the apprentices, London Wasps and cahro.
As a Gold Standard training provider, cahro are a highly successful provider of accreditation and learning and development training, accredited with nine awarding bodies and have a long established reputation in many industry sectors.
Speaking on the partnership with cahro Chris Lloyd said, For me its been a great experience so far, working with cahro has been fantastic - they are obviously leaders in their field. To be able to bring assessment in house to Wasps and to work with the Apprentices at every stage of their development is so beneficial; it really strengthens and supports everything we are trying to achieve.
Wasps youth system is already renowned as a producer of superb home grown talent. Established players such as Englands World Cup winners Lawrence Dallaglio and Joe Worsley, and rising new stars such as Tom Rees and James Haskell are just some of on the list of alumni.
The 2006-7 Apprentices have also enjoyed a good season on the pitch, with the U17s suffering only one defeat despite playing against predominantly U19 opposition.
cahro is proud to be forging a productive relationship with an industry leader such as London Wasps and this adds to the impressive roster of first class clients that cahro continues to work with across the UK.
